Dr. Barbara Frank Mentorship Award
This award is presented each year to a female medical student, intern or resident who demonstrates an ardent desire to pursue a career in gastroenterology. Named for Dr. Barbara B. Frank, a highly acclaimed female gastroenterologist and the first female president of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), this award encourages trainees to explore the field of GI as an exciting and rewarding career opportunity.
The winner of the Dr. Barbara Frank Scholarship Mentorship Award receives an all-expense paid trip to Digestive Diseases Week (DDW). This award includes all conference registration fees, airfare, meal allowance and three-night hotel accommodations at DDW.
During her stay at DDW, the awardee will have the unique opportunity to shadow a DCWN Executive Committee Member through a typical day of scientific sessions, workshops and networking opportunities at the conference. Additionally she will receive notable recognition during DDW at the annual DCWN Membership Event.
